Yeah, I know about dragging it onto the mail icon, but that is a flick of the wrist, which is inherently more of a strain than two clicks with a finger! :D
I never really knew about automator. I looked at it after you mentioned it, but can't figure out how to go about the task. If you have any pointers that'd be great.

So the only model they're going to sell is the Elite Slim one once the supplies on the current Arcade and Pro are out?

This debate could (and will) go on forever. I consider myself a cross-platform guy. Pretty knowledgeable about tech stuff. I just got done posting a WinTel vs. Apple comment in another forum.
It all boils down to this:
I'm building a new PC out of some spare parts and a few upgrades... to play around with. To use for some stuff. And no, not games. Some legal software (I'm not paying twice).
But I'm saving up to buy a nice Mac in a few months (come on 970) to use. To work on. Audio/Video/Imaging. I know you can do those on a PC. But why would you want to?
I mean, really. Why?
I'd rather have secure and acurate than cheap and (sometimes) a little more speed.

I agree. Don't be creepy, too. No heavy breathing through your teeth so it makes that creepy noise, and no Fava beans with Chianti for lunch.
:)
I'll give that try, and keep those things in mind. The problem being, it will be hard because she won't see the real me, what with no heavy breathing and Fava-bean/Chianti lunch  :D

I'm going to agree with you on this.
3G --> 3Gs --> 4
4--> 4s --> 5
Same update path, but the timing altered by the CDMA production.
4s in Sept iPhone 5 in June 2012 with LTE. :apple:
If a new iPhone comes out this year, then next years new iPhone would be the iPhone 6!

I really hope T-Mobile isn't chosen...I had them for a year and a half and what horrible customer service. Not to mention that their coverage in Palm Springs, CA is horrible. Apple should go with Verizon, I did go with AT&T myself, but Verizon is rated highest of all the carriers for customer satisfaction and coverage.
I've been with T-mobile since the 1st sidekick and am still with them because of their customer service. They have the best CS IMO

Unless the microgenetics machines are small, well, there are several stages in DNA transcription and reverse transcriptase, which would make several conditions unsuitable. Heat destroys it. It can be awfully slow. There are at least 6 stages using different equipment.

I used to work as a cashier in the ladies shoes section of Marshall Fields (department store) at Oak Brook Mall (which also has an Apple store).
A cute young lady from the cosmetics department had been admiring me from afar. I had no clue about it. Then one or two salespeople in my department asked me if I was available (these salespeople were older married ladies so I guess it was "safe" for them to ask) and then they let me know that a pretty girl from the cosmetics department had a crush on me.
Anyway, I think I was either not interested or I was in a long-distance-relationship but nothing happened between me and cosmetics woman.
efoto, the reason I'm bringing this up is to give you an idea for another strategy - if there's a cool / friendly / helpful Apple store employee maybe they could let you know whether your crush is already spoken for.

Uh, why? How is it shameful? This isn't an item that is even remotely usable for studying with alone - what other electronics company does student discount on the scale that Apple does? The iPad is a glorified iPod touch, it is not a learning device (yet), not will it replace a computer in the home unless all you use is Facebook, even then you can't upload photos without the use of another computer.
Sarcasm, right? Any student, it doesn't even fulfill the needs of half of all students. It can't print, for one! Nor can you put pictures or anything onto it without the use of another computer, so how exactly does it replace a computer?
Like the way you just picked out a solitary post, ignored my other post, just to make your point ;0)
I said it's a companion device in a later post. I was a student, and I agree I wouldn't write an essay on an iPad. My 80wpm isn't blistering, but it would be slowed right down by the iPad and I would want to get my thoughts on the screen as quickly as possible
What it is good for is note taking in lectures, using the diary on the go, being able to surf the net, reference quickly, carry core texts around with you (core texts not replacing half a dozen books that need to be open at hte same time for quick reference), great for e mail on the go, great for facebook in those boring lectures where you're struggling to keep your self awake, and lots of other handy things.
Where it falls down is the lack of multi tasking, porn, illegal downloading, and lots of other things students find handy :D
I used a palm during my uni years, the think was fricking amazing for what I wanted it to do at the time. You don't always need to carry around one device that does it all, sometimes simplicity and convenience is what it's all about
Funnily enough I agree with your points, just don't try and bend what someone else has said to try and fit the point you want to make, you'll lose marks for that in your exams/ essays ;)
It seems like the majority of the comments are about Price, personal purchase and Higher ed use cases. All of these comments miss the point of what the announcement is about, institutional purchases. This is about school's buying large quantities, and really, since I have a hard time imagining that a University would be buying 10 packs of iPods . Yes, I know that schools like ACU have innovative 1:1 ipod /phone programs where they provide devices to the student, that is not really what this bundle is about). The target audience of a program like this is clearly K12. It is similar to bundles that apple currently has of 32 iPod touches and a Bretford cart or use in a K12 classroom.
This is all interesting, but the biggest challenge and obstacle that Apple has in K12 is that the iPod ecosystem is a consumer model. It is also not a Higher ed model, where students own their own device and are conditioned to the requiremet of buying their content. I work as a technologist for a 200+ school district and we have been trying to figure out for the better part of a year how to make this consumer product work in k12 setting.
We've been running pilots in several schools / classes since late spring of 09 and the biggest problem we have is getting a straight answer on how to liscence paid applications. We've asked several Apple representatives "if I buy a class set of 32 ipods, and I want to use a paid app, how many copies does the school need to buy, how many itunes accounts do we need, how many computers do we need to sync all 32 devices and how can we purchase using ta purchase order (no school is going to relish tying a credit card to a personal account, or cutting a PO for 30 $25 itunes gift cards!)
The answer we have gotten back every time has been not 32, not 1, not 1 for every 5 devices, but the question does not apply, the iPod and iTunes are consumer products and the enduser agreement is for consumers not institutions, and when asked for advice we've been told that Apple does not provide interpretations of their agreements and how we choose to interpret it is a mater that we should take up with our in-house council.
The good will and glow of Apple in education will continue to drive adoption of the ipod and ipad. I know millions of stimulus dollars went to ipods in school districts around the country, unfortunately, until Apple accepts the fact that school districts are not individuals and they have to "think different" and work with us when we ask for advice on how to successfully use their products in K12, much of the money and the potential will go o waste.
I hold my hand up, I did miss the point. I confused this with being one and the same as a student/ teacher discount. I didn't engage my brain there for a second.
I think Apple should give good discounts to educational establishments and students, hell it's far cheaper for them than marketing campaigns. Hook a student on an Apple and you've got a customer for life!

Strange question: can you use the Firmware Restoration CD to update your firmware? This disc is designed to fix a bad update from CD, bypassing the hard disk and the RAID array. Seems to me that it should work, in theory.
Read all about it here (http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/firmwarerestorationcd11.html). New version released today for the latest Mac Pro firmware.
I tried this with my RAID0 Mac Pro and it doesn't work I am afraid. I can't get it to update when you hold down the power button. I really think that Apple have to address this problem. RAID0 is not going to be very unusual with the new Mac Pros.

First thing that comes to mind is Brasso, but an abrasive such as that might actually tarnish the matte coating around the scratches which would just make it worse. Long story short I think we may be out of luck.

I will be buying an American made car at some point in the near future.
Will you consider cars made in the US, but have parent companies, and thus profits, that are overseas? Will you exclude American brands that manufacture outside of the US?
I too will be swapping out my US made foreign car for an "American" car, but anymore, I'm not sure what that means.

Its just disappointing to see something intel only. I thought this would be extremely rare, and it should never actually happen. Don't they understand that you ABSOLUTELY HAVE to support older systems. Not everyone has the means to just buy a brand new computer everytime software they want is released. I hope this is just a one off case of it being Windows only, and Adobe just making it intel only cause it was easier.

In-app purchase can be disabled using parental control. This is stupid. I expect my tax to be used by my government to tackle bigger problems, oh maybe like jobs and the economy, not to appease some idiot "parents."
I was about to comment on the same thing, holy enchilada  so now parents can't figure out how to lock their kids out  and have to get the government to do it for them, are people just getting dumber :p as time goes, people you should not contribute to the gene pool it could hurt our long term survival as a species.
